Brett represents and advises clients involving a wide range of business matters and transactions, including equity and debt financings, contract negotiations, and mergers and acquisitions. He represents clients at various stages of their life cycle and across different industries, including media, energy transition, technology, and financial services. Prior to joining Mintz & Gold, Brett was a partner at a boutique firm that he founded and prior to that an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP. In addition, Brett formerly was the CEO of an innovative technology company. In that role, he negotiated partnerships with some of the largest media rights holders in the world, including major sports leagues, teams, and networks. Brett received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University where he was a government major. He then received his JD from Harvard Law School and his MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where he majored in finance. Brett also has a CFA Charter.
Brett is a member of the Bar of the State of New York and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Brett has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star from 2014 to 2020.
