Howard Topaz is a partner and chair of Mintz & Gold’s Tax Department. He concentrates his practice on tax planning and compliance matters for high-net-worth families, companies and private foundations. He advises clients on the tax aspects of complex investments, personal and trust income tax returns, and estate planning. Howard also handles Federal, state and local tax controversy matters.
Prior to joining Mintz & Gold, Howard was a partner at Hogan Lovells LLP, a leading international law firm. Before that, Howard was a partner at Squadron, Ellenoff. Howard started his career at Arthur Anderson and there added a CPA license to his resume.
Howard is a graduate of Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and attained an LLM in Tax from the New York University School of Law. He obtained an undergraduate degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
