Richard “Rick” Breslow, who has more than 35 years of experience working on complex commercial litigation matters and the defense of accounting firms and their personnel, is a member of the Mintz & Gold commercial litigation practice and the leader of the firm’s Accountants’ Liability Practice.
Rick represents accounting firms and other clients in a wide range of litigation matters, including professional liability/malpractice matters, regulatory investigations and disciplinary matters, and litigation involving non-solicitation and non-competition agreements. Rick also advises accounting firms and their personnel on compliance with state accountancy laws and state board of accountancy regulations. He also regularly works on other complex litigation matters.
Prior to joining Mintz & Gold, Rick spent 20 years at KPMG LLP, the Big 4 accounting firm, where he was a Principal and Associate General Counsel, and 6 years as an Assistant General Counsel at Price Waterhouse LLP. Rick started his career by working on the defense of professional liability claims, securities fraud class actions and derivative suits, and antitrust and M&A litigation, at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.
