Alexander H. Gardner maintains a diverse practice representing institutions and individuals in state and federal courts, as well as in domestic and international arbitrations, including investment advisors and individuals in FINRA arbitrations. Alex has experience with a broad range of complex business litigation, including commercial, securities, employment, intellectual property, real estate, and insurance coverage disputes. He also represents individuals and families providing counsel and drafting agreements regarding estate planning, pre-and post-nuptial agreements and divorce negotiation. Alex also represents individuals and corporations charged with federal or state crimes, as well as investigations and actions brought by various regulatory agencies.
As a prosecutor, Alex served from 1992-1998 in the Queens County District Attorney’s Office, trying over twenty felony jury trials and arguing over 30 appeals before the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division as well as multiple cases before the New York State Court of Appeals and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Alex received his B.A. from Union College in 1988, and his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 1992. He is also a long-time board member of Grand Street Settlement, a lower east side community organization.
